The environmental contribution from Collection Solutions and parts of Sorting Solutions can be measured in terms of avoided carbon dioxide emissions due to the recycling and reuse of plastic beverage containers, metals and other materials that have been collected and/or sorted using TOMRA’s technology.
The environmental benefits form the other segments are significant, but harder to quantify. An example is sensor-based steam peeling of potatoes, which reduced peel loss and energy consumptions.
